There is no automatic verification system attached to text written on an image.
A photograph saying someone died does not prove that they died.
The same principle applies to logos.
A fake post can include a recognizable-looking news logo.
That doesn’t mean the news organization published it.
When in doubt, go directly to the organization’s website rather than trusting an image circulating online.
## The Danger of Sharing “Just in Case”
Some people share questionable death reports because they aren’t completely certain.
They may think:
“I’ll share it so people can find out.”
