At the banquet, my CEO husband publicly humi.li.ated me for his mistress. I made one call: ‘Terminate the CEO. Seize my estate and repossess the cars.’ His family laughed at me, then 30 minutes later…

Adrian grabbed my arm. “What game are you playing?”

I looked at his hand until he released me.

“The one you started when you used corporate money to fund Vanessa’s apartment, her travel, and a consulting contract for a company that has no employees.”

Vanessa went pale.

Adrian’s eyes sharpened. “You’ve been spying on me?”

“I own the audit rights.”

That was the clue he finally understood.

For six months, my attorneys and forensic accountants had reviewed irregular executive expenses. I hadn’t acted because I wanted evidence, not suspicion.

Adrian had mistaken patience for blindness.

Worse, he had approved related-party payments, hidden bonuses, and a sham vendor controlled by Marcus.

Marcus stood abruptly. “That’s a lie.”

Daniel’s voice came through my phone. “It is documented.”

Every head turned.

I had called him back before Adrian reached me.

Daniel continued, calm as winter. “The majority shareholder has executed written consent replacing two directors. The reconstituted board has voted to terminate Adrian Vale for cause, effective immediately. Building access, corporate accounts, aircraft privileges, and company cards are suspended.”

Adrian stared at my phone.

“No board meeting happened.”

“Delaware law permits action by written consent under the company’s governing documents,” Daniel replied. “You signed those documents four years ago.”

Someone at the closest table whispered, “Oh my God.”

Vanessa stepped away from Adrian.

He noticed.

“Don’t,” he snapped.

She folded her arms. “You told me you owned everything.”

I almost laughed.

Celeste rose, furious. “Even if this nonsense is true, the house is Adrian’s marital home.”

“The house belongs to Ashcroft Residential Trust,” I said. “You’ve been living there under a revocable family occupancy license.”

Her mouth opened.

Richard scoffed. “You can’t throw us into the street.”

“I’m not. Your apartment in the west wing has a thirty-day termination clause. Daniel served notice this afternoon.”

Marcus reached for his keys as though suddenly remembering something valuable.

At that moment, headlights swept across the drive beyond the ballroom’s glass doors.

Three recovery trucks pulled beneath the hotel awning.

The Bentley.

Marcus’s Porsche.

Richard’s Range Rover.

All owned by Ashcroft Holdings.

The room erupted in whispers.
